A Journey That Began with a Message: 25 Braille Qurans for Sierra Leone

Prompted by a request from Alusine Jallow, a 27-year-old visually impaired man who wrote to our Facebook page, 25 Braille Qurans and Elif booklets were delivered with IHH's support to a group of 17 people in Sierra Leone who wanted to learn the Braille Quran.
Alusine Jallow, a 27-year-old visually impaired man from Sierra Leone, contacted our IBQS Facebook page saying he wanted to learn the Braille Quran. We got in touch with him via WhatsApp, and a group of 17 people in Sierra Leone who, like him, wanted to learn the Braille Quran was formed.
After an online meeting with the group, it was decided to send 25 Braille Qurans and Elif booklets to Sierra Leone. The Qurans and booklets were delivered to Sierra Leone in November 2024 with the support of the IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation.
A participant from Sierra Leone who attended the Braille Quran course in Uganda in January 2025 said he planned to start a similar course in his own country.
