Our Services

The services we provide to support the religious lives of our visually impaired brothers and sisters

Braille Quran Supply

We deliver Braille copies of the Holy Quran, specially prepared for the visually impaired, free of charge.

Training Programs

We organize comprehensive training programs on braille reading techniques and religious education.

Volunteering

We train and organize volunteers who want to support visually impaired individuals.

International Cooperation

We reach wider communities by cooperating with partner organizations around the world.

A Decade of Global Impact

Since 2014 we have worked to give visually impaired Muslims around the world access to the Holy Quran. The standards we developed together with our member organizations have become a point of reference in braille Islamic education.

Today we work with member organizations and individual members from 16 countries. Together with our 9 member organizations we continue to meet the religious education needs of visually impaired people.

The latest developments and news from IBQS

A Historic Step in Marawi: Braille Quran Training Successfully Completed

The Braille Quran training held in Marawi, Philippines, on 10–25 August 2026 in cooperation with IBQS, TİKA, the Çare Association, TUFIFSA and the Sharief Group of Colleges was a first for the region. Twenty-six participants, 18 men and 8 women, took the course and received the first white canes of their lives.

Prof. Dr. Ali Erbaş Guest of Honour at the Traditional IBQS Iftar

Our traditional Türkiye iftar was held in Ümraniye on 15 March 2026. Former President of Religious Affairs Prof. Dr. Ali Erbaş was the guest of honour; live connections were made with Gambia, France and Togo, and trainee teachers from Uganda and Sierra Leone were introduced to the guests.

Our Work in Africa Deepens: Visit to Gambia

IBQS President Halis Kuralay was in Banjul, the capital of Gambia, on 17–24 January 2026. He attended a meeting of foundations providing religious services in 25 African countries, presented Braille Qurans and Elif primers to the GOVI school for the blind, and guided the founding of a Gambian association to join the Union.
