Seventeen Braille Qurans and learning materials were shipped from our headquarters in Istanbul to the Albasir School for the Blind in Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia.
The school, directed by our Board Member Abikar Hussein, educates 56 visually impaired students aged between 10 and 25, including high school and university students. Since the meetings of our African members in 2019, it has been one of the institutions our Union works with most closely.
This shipment was followed in April 2025 by our President Halis Kuralay's visit to the school, where he delivered slates, canes and paper, and by an iftar program that continued throughout Ramadan.
